Baseball Recruiting Showcase

The University of Waterloo 6th Annual Warriors Varsity Baseball Recruiting Showcase

The University of Waterloo will be holding its 6th annual Warriors Varsity Baseball Recruiting Showcase for prospective and current Waterloo students on February 17, 2024. We are actively recruiting players to help reinforce a strong core of returning players, as we continue to build off another strong season that saw the Warriors win the OUA Far West Regional Championship for a second straight season, and finish with an OUA Silver Medal!

The Showcase will be held in our state-of-the-art 65,000 square foot Field House that Warriors Baseball uses to train year-round. Participants will receive a Warriors-branded workout shirt for attending the Showcase Event. All players graduating from high school in 2024, 2025, and 2026, as well as potential transfer/graduate students are encouraged to register.

Choosing to study at Waterloo offers student-athletes a chance to attend one of the top universities in Canada, while training and developing with the support of an experienced coaching staff and player group! We expect to add impact recruits who can push for immediate playing time.

The showcase will include targeted hitting and fielding activities, light throwing work, as well as combine testing for speed, agility, and overall athleticism. There will not be any max-effort throwing activities or testing for recruits at this stage of the offseason.

Attendees will learn from and train alongside current players, and will get a taste of what being a Warrior looks and feels like. Included in this year’s showcase activities will be an innovative presentation from Manager of Player Development and Pitching Coordinator, Dr. Andrew Robb.

Additionally, attendees will get an in-depth look at some of the exciting things our Baseball Operations staff have been developing exclusively for our players, as well as a session about why Waterloo’s academic reputation and commitment to excellence in athletics is so appealing to current students. Current and former players will be in attendance to share their experiences with the participants and their families.

Players who attend this Recruiting Showcase and accept an offer of admission will be eligible to participate in select off-season workouts with the Warriors Varsity Baseball team to help prepare them for their summer seasons. The Warriors Baseball staff consists of several former OUA varsity baseball players, former US Collegiate, Professional, and Canadian National team members, strength and conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, and a Sports Chiropractor that currently works with multiple MLB organizations and pro players. Members of our staff work relentlessly to identify new and innovative tools and training methods to refine and unlock talent with our players. Our goal is to help continue to grow Warriors Baseball into a top collegiate baseball program in Canada.

Why Choose the University of Waterloo?

The University of Waterloo is a world-renowned educational institution and was once again ranked the top comprehensive university institution in Ontario. The University of Waterloo has also been unwavering in supporting its athletic programs, with several new and exciting investments into athletic and recreational opportunities for our students.

In 2018, the University of Waterloo unveiled a new on-campus baseball practice field, significantly improving the quality of our in-season training. Additionally, 2019 brought the completion of a brand new indoor Field House, where we conduct all our indoor training and offer our Warrior Baseball Workshops - to allow teams from the community the opportunity to come in and train with the Warriors. We have since added a hitting tunnel and Hack Attack pitching machine, plus a number of mounds to augment our infrastructure and developmental technologies to meet our athletes' needs.

We know that students are preparing University applications at this time of year, and we’ve already seen a ton of interest in Warriors Baseball. With the momentum we’ve built over the past few years, it is an incredibly exciting time to explore studying at Waterloo and becoming a Warrior!
