So you want to get active, that’s great!  Physical activity has a ton of benefits for you as a student.  In a study done here at the University of Waterloo on 171 first year students, the ones who were physically active experienced a better transition from high school to university, better managed their workloads, and were were more connected to the community around them (Wilson, Potwarka and Myers, 2016).

Don’t know where to start? No problem.  Here’s a bunch of different things you can try.

For the Fall 2022 Term, Warrior Recreation will be offering Fitness Memberships that will allow you to access any fitness classes on our fitness schedule including, Yoga, Zumba, Barre and a variety of HIIT classes.

Once you have registered for your membership you will be eligible to reserve your spot for individual classes at no additional cost. Reserve your spot in advance as capacity numbers are limited for each class.

Open Recreation and Swims!

This Fall we will be having several Open Rec opportunities that include Badminton, Basketball, Swimming, Rec Skates and more! No Registration required, just show up, have your tap Watcard ready and play!

Want to learn something new? 

We offer many different types of dance, sports, and martial arts instructional programming each term, including hip hope, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and TaeKwonDo to name a few. 
 
We also have a ton of clubs that you can join! From Dragon Boat to Ultimate Frisbee to Table Tennis, there are over 30 different sport and recreation clubs that are a part of the Department of Athletics and Recreation that are waiting for you to join. Contact the club you are interested in to find out more about the Fall.
