Media Information

  • Any members of the media wishing to conduct interviews with Warriors student-athletes, coaches or staff are asked to connect with Megan Muir. All requests will be processed in a timely manner.

    Please note that student-athletes contact information will not be provided without their consent and student-athletes have been directed to pass interview requests to the department for confirmation.

  • Full-Season Credentials 


    Full-season credentials will be issued to media members who cover the Warriors on a regular basis. To obtain a full-season credential, please contact Megan Muir.

    Single-Game Credentials


    For single-game credentials, contact Megan Muir at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled game time. 
     
    Please note that credentials must be produced upon entry and upon request any time thereafter. Credentials are non-transferable, may be revoked at any time at the sole discretion of Waterloo Athletics & Recreation and will automatically terminate if any term is breached. Decisions of the Marketing Office regarding credentials are final.

  • Media members wishing to attend a practice are asked to connect with Megan Muir to confirm practice times and locations, as well as to confirm any interview needs. This will allow time to connect with coaches or staff on site in order to assist with requests in a timely manner.

    Student-athletes and coaches are generally available to speak either before a scheduled practice time or afterwards. However, coaches may change availability at their discretion.

  • Accreditation Pick-Up


    Upon arrival at Warrior Field, proceed to the ticketing box office. Sign in with the staff at the desk. Request your pre-approved accreditation if you are picking it up on Game Day. 

    Photographer/Videographer Information 


    Photographers and Videographers will be required to sign-out a media vest at the CIF Field House Desk which must be worn at all times when on the field.. 

    When leaving the facility, return the media vest to the CIF Field House Desk 

    On-Field Access


    Proper accreditation and media vest (if applicable) must be visible and shown to the security personnel in order to gain access to the field.

    OUA Sideline Policy 


    As per the OUA sideline policy, the following additional regulations apply:

    • Media personnel must stay 3 metres (9' 10") behind the sideline and end zone (i.e. behind the advertising banners)
    • Photographers and camera operators are prohibited from the team bench areas
    • It is forbidden to leave camera equipment unattended along the sidelines and end zones.

     

    Press Box Access


    Due to limited space for credentialed media inside the Warrior Field press box, please contact Megan Muir for press box seating requests. 

    Post-Game Interviews 


    Post-game interviews will be conducted on Warrior Field following the completion of the team huddle. Exceptions will be made for webcast or television purposes.

    Media personnel are asked to connect with Megan Muir prior to the completion of the game to identify which coaches and/or players they would like to speak with.

  • Accreditation Pick-Up


    Basketball/Volleyball:  Accreditation can be picked up from the PAC Front Service Desk upon arrival on game day.

    Hockey: Accreditation can be picked up from the CIF Front Desk upon arrival on game day.

    Photographer/Videographer 


    Basketball/Volleyball: During the game, photographers and videographers are directed to shoot from the baselines, behind the sponsor signage or from the stands inside the PAC main gym. Shooting from the team benches or scorer’s table is prohibited. During pre-game & post-game, access to the floor is permitted provided the individual is wearing clean shoes.

    Hockey: During the game, shooting is allowed anywhere inside CIF Arena asides from the team benches and penalty boxes. Press box space is limited and must be requested to Megan Muir ahead of game day. 

    Post-Game Interviews 


    Basketball: Interviews will be conducted in North Corner of the PAC gym following the conclusion of the game. Please connect with Megan Muir or a member of the coaching & support staff to request players or coaches.

    Hockey: Interviews will be conducted in the arena, outside of the Waterloo team locker rooms following the conclusion of the game. Please connect with Megan Muir or a member of the coaching & support staff to request players or coaches.
