Rules & Etiquette

The Fitness and Strength Centres are available for your pleasure and use. Based on student ideas and requests these facilities get better and better each year, and with your continued support, both facilities will continue to stay up to date and well maintained. For the enjoyment of all, please respect your facilities. We must all adhere to the rules and etiquette in order to keep our facilities looking good and in great shape!

Facility Use
The facility is only supervised at specified times, please use at your own risk. Please read and understand the Assumption of Risk before using the facility. l users are expected to ensure their own safety and that of others, and to behave in a mature and respectful manner.

In an emergeny situation a phone is located near the Strength Centre entrance. When at the CIF, please go directly to the CIF Equipment Centre. First Aid is available at both facilities at the Equipment Centres.

Equipment Use

Free weights are prohibited from being used on cardio equipment
- All free weights must be returned to the racks after use
- All plates should be returned to the racks after use. Bars should not be left loaded as other users might not be able to safely unload them
- All users should take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety, including but not limited to using a spotter and weight collars
- Wipe down the equipment after use. Spray the towel and then clean the equipment; do not spray the equipment directly
- Allow others to 'work in' between sets
- Maximum of 30 minutes per cardio machine
- Report any equipment malfunction to staff immediately
