On October 31st, 2023, the University of Waterloo Varsity Swim team faced off against Wilfred Laurier University in their annual
Battle of Waterloo Series. The Warriors dominated the competition, winning an impressive 27 out of 28 events. The women's team scored 206 points to Wilfred Laurier's 94, while the men's team scored 213 to Wilfred Laurier's 101.
Megan Frost (Pointe Claire/) was the top scorer for the women's team, earning 21 points for her victories in the 200m Backstroke, 200m Individual Medley, and 200m Freestyle. In the men's events, three swimmers shared the top scorer title with 19 points each: Finn Duncan Snobel,
Samuel Pei (Richmond/), and
Lukas Wormald (Kitchener/). Finn Duncan Snobel won 1st place in the 200m Backstroke, 2nd place in the 100M Butterfly and 100m Backstroke.
Samuel Pei (Richmond/) won 1st place in the 50M Breaststroke and 200m Freestyle, and 2nd place in the 100m Breaststroke.
Lukas Wormald (Kitchener/) won 1st place in the 50m Butterfly and 100m Butterfly, and 2nd place in the 50m Backstroke.
Waterloo Warriors Varsity Swim team will compete again on November 11th in the NYAC Cup, which will take place at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Center.
