The Warriors badminton program hosted seven other schools from across the OUA as some of the top badminton players from across the province finally got to compete for an OUA banner. The Physical Activities Complex was transformed into a beautiful badminton venue for the weekend.

The Warriors were able to come away with the OUA bronze medal, defeating the Ottawa Gee Gees 6-1 in the third place match.

The Warriors opened up their pool play with a dominant 10-0 victory over Ryerson before easily getting past Western by a score of 7-3. They then met the York Lions who were ranked among the top teams coming into the championship. Waterloo gave them all they could handle but fell just short by a score of 6-4.

The Warriors then got past McMaster by a score of 6-4 in the OUA quarter-finals, setting up a tough semifinal tilt with Toronto. Waterloo went down 0-2 early before battling back with doubles victories to make it 2-2. The Varsity Blues eventually pulled away late to win the match by a score of 6-3.

Waterloo then met Ottawa for bronze and controlled the match from start to finish only dropping one game along the way. Harry Soo for the Warriors going with a men's singles victory over Cedric Hupe-Pageau winning 2-0 (24-22, 21-15). Jenny Lei (Ottawa/) then made it 2-0 with her win in women's singles (21-14, 21-4).

Thomas Dent (Waterloo/) and Aaron Hsu continued the dominance with a men's doubles victory before Angela Chen and Joey Kuang (Toronto/) sealed the victory in women's doubles. 

Hsu and Chen were both named OUA All-Stars for the Warriors after outstanding weekends with the black and gold.
