Men's Golf Head Coach, Athletics and Recreation

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly-motivated and organized individual to serve as the head coach of its Men's Golf program for the 2023 season. Under the direction of the Associate Director, Interuniversity Athletics and the Manager, Interuniversity Athletics, the head coach is responsible for the continuous development of the varsity men's golf program through coaching and administration.

These responsibilities will be fulfilled through coordination, planning, evaluation, and implementation of yearly training programs, as well as recruiting highly qualified OUA caliber student-athletes. Additional responsibilities include proper training techniques, individualized training schedules within a yearly program plan and with priority placed on academic success, and the overall student-athlete experience. The incumbent must also act in accordance with documented policy and procedure guidelines and adhere to the University of Waterloo, and OUA policies and procedures.

The coach will work cooperatively with the University of Waterloo athletic department staff team in admissions, event scheduling, travel planning, budgeting, peer mentorship, academic support, alumni development, purchasing of equipment and apparel, and completing administrative requirements.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a friendly, results oriented person with an ability to engage with student staff, alumni, and volunteers.

Minimum requirements include a university degree (preferred), current coaching accreditation (fully certified NCCP or equivalent), and several years of successful coaching at the university level, or equivalent high-performance experience. Superior interpersonal, organizational, leadership, mentorship and technical skills are required.

The Men's Golf varsity season begins with training camp in September and finishes with the RCGA Championships in May.  Practices occur off campus and student-athletes train throughout the calendar year.   Non-typical hours required on evenings & weekends. Additionally, the successful candidate will require a vulnerable sector check.
