Warriors come up one quarter short in loss to No. 3 Marauders

Box Score The Warriors gave the No. 3 team in the country quite the scare on Saturday afternoon as McMaster held only a six point lead (46-40) into the final quarter but the Marauders flexed their nationally ranked muscles in the final quarter, outscoring Waterloo by 20 to earn a 73-47 win.

With the win McMaster improved to an impressive 14-2 record while Waterloo fell to 5-11.  Despite the loss, it was another piece of the building block as Craig Nickel's squad continues to make improvements.

Waterloo's defence was key to their success in the first three quarters, holding McMaster to just 31% from the field but unfortunately the No. 3 team in the country found its scoring touch in the final quarter operating at 45.5%.

McMaster had some success from 3-point land, knocking down 17 while Waterloo had five fall from beyond the arc.

Kristen Osborne (Markham) was Waterloo's leading scorer with 11 while Jenel Ulman (Hamilton) had 10.  On the boards, Nicole Schlick (Prince George) had a big game collecting a game high 13 rebounds.

Danielle Boiago was impressive for Mac with 20 points including five successful shots from downtown while Vanessa Pickard had 14 off the bench.

The Warriors will look for their sixth win of the season on Wednesday in London when they face the Western Mustangs, who are also in search of their sixth win.
