The women's basketball team fell to the Laurentian Voyageurs and Nipissing Lakers in their first road trip of the season.
On Friday night, Waterloo had a slow start with just 15 points in the first half but came on strong in the second half putting up 31 second half points but the comeback fell just short in a 49-46 loss.Â
Sydney Wilson (Guelph/) led the way with 10 points and six rebounds while
Hilary Ferguson (Cambridge/) had eight. Â
Caitlin MacLeod (Mississauga/),
Aphia Ward (Beaumont/), and
Afifa Salad (Cambridge/) all finished with seven points each.
On Saturday, Waterloo put together a strong first and third quarter but couldn't overcome a tough third quarter that saw the Lakers outscore the Warriors 21-5 en route to the 74-61 win. Waterloo shot 32.8% from the field compared to 37.1% for Nipissing while the home side out rebounded the black and gold 42-33.
Ella Mahler (Hamilton/) led the Warriors in points with 13 while Wilson put up 12 and Ward had 10. On the boards, Ferguson led all players with 10 rebounds.
The Warriors will now return home for four straight at the PAC starting with Carleton on Friday night at 6pm. Â
