The Warriors two game win streak came to a halt on Wednesday night as the Laurier Golden Hawks topped Waterloo 73-57 in the first installment of the battle of Waterloo of the season.  

Waterloo got off to the start they wanted taking a 21-17 lead into the second quarter but went cold in the middle two frames, putting up just 17 points compared to 37 for the Hawks, proving to be the difference in the game.  

Laurier shot 39.7% from the field while Waterloo operated at 30.6%.  Laurier also made the most of their free throw attempts knocking down 23-of-28 attempts while Waterloo went 12-for-23.

Kristen Osborne (Markham) was Waterloo's top point getter with 13 points including three from downtown while Aphia Ward (Beaumont) had 12 points in her 21 minutes of action.  Emily Wilk (Oakville) rounded out Waterloo's offence with 10 points.

Laurier's dynamic duo of Nicole Morrison and Kaitlyn Schenck tallied 21 and 23 points respectively as the black and gold had no answers for the guards.

The 5-7 Warriors will look to rebound on Saturday as they take on the 9-2 Ryerson Rams at 1:00pm in the PAC.  The game can be seen live on OUA.tv.
