Warriors fall to McMaster as new PAC bleachers unveiled

Box Score Photo by: Richard Zazulak

It wasn't the start the Warriors had hoped for in the New Year with a tough 86-40 loss to the No. 7 McMaster Marauders.  It was the debut of the new PAC bleachers but unfortunately it was the Marauders who made themselves comfortable in front of them.  McMaster jumped out to a 21-11 lead after the opening quarter and did not look back en route to the 46 point victory.

The Marauders shot 45.6% from the field compared to Waterloo's 27.8% and were also very strong from the line knocking down 20 free throws on 24 attempts.  McMaster also outrebounded Waterloo 46 to 27.

The Warriors had no answer for the starters on the visitor's side as they combined for 60 of their points.  Guard Danielle Boiago led the way with 18 points while Hilary Hanaka had 16.  On the boards, Clare Kenney was unstoppable collecting 15 rebounds while adding 13 points.

For Waterloo, Kristen Osborne (Markham) had a strong game with 13 points while Jenel Ulman (Hamilton) collected seven.  Caitlin MacLeod (Mississauga) led the Warriors in rebounds with seven.

The Warriors will look to bounce back on Saturday at the annual Fantastic Alumni Day when they host Brock at 1pm.
