Box Score The never-say-die Warriors gave a resilient effort down the stretch but could not catch the Western Mustangs who topped the Warriors 80-70 on Saturday afternoon in London. Waterloo outscored the 'Stangs 29-22 in the final quarter but it wasn't enough as Waterloo dropped to 3-8 on the season. With the win, Western improved to that same record as both teams sit tied for third in the OUA west standings.
Waterloo's
Madison Behr (Ancaster) was a strong point for the black and gold with 18 points in her 30 minutes of work. Behr knocked down eight field goals while adding two from beyond the arc. She was also strong on the boards with eight rebounds.
Rookie guard
Amy Jarvis (Burlington) continued to display her talent, with 14 points off the bench. Jarvis knocked down seven field goals while also adding two rebounds and two steals.
Marti Killeen (Oakville) rounded out the offensive attack with nine points in a losing effort.
The story of the game for Western was the play of Mackenzie Puklicz who tallied a career high 30 points, eight from the field and three from 3-point land. She also made an astounding 14 trips to the line, cashing in on 11 of those attempts.
The Warriors will look to rebound on Wednesday as their six game road trip continues in Guelph (5-5).
