Marauders offence too much for Warriors

Box Score The potent McMaster Marauder offence was too much for the Warriors to handle as they cruised to the 77-45 win on Wednesday night at the PAC.  The win lifts the Marauders to a 9-4 record good for fourth in the ultra-competitive OUA west while Waterloo continues to sit on two wins with 11 losses on the season.

McMaster led from start to finish including a big opening quarter outscoring the Warriors 21-9.  Waterloo committed 23 turnovers compared to only eight from McMaster while the visiting side also had a respectable field goal percentage of 41.7 in the contest.

Second year guard Danielle Boiago of the Marauders led all players with 18 points and five rebounds while teammates Vanessa Bonomo and Elizabeth Burns tallied 10 points each.

For the Warriors it was Marti Killeen (Oakville/) who stood out all game long driving to the hoop and doing all she could to keep up with the powerful McMaster attack.  The third year arts and business student finished with 10 points and four rebounds.  Kristen Osborne (Markham/) was the only other Warrior in double figures with 10 points of her own.

Waterloo will be back to the PAC on Saturday afternoon when they take on the Guelph Gryphons at 1pm as part of Youth Basketball Day.  The game can be seen live on Warriors TV.
