Warriors offence goes cold in loss to Hawks

Kristen Osborne continued her strong play off the bench with 11 points
Box Score The Warriors played strong defence but could not find their offensive stride in the battle of Waterloo as the No. 10 Laurier Golden Hawks downed Waterloo 65-41 on Wednesday night.  The Hawks have been solid in the early going only dropping one game all season and are now 8-1 while Waterloo fell to 2-6 and sit in the basement of the OUA west.
 
After a tight first quarter, the Hawks spent the second quarter opening up a comfortable gap on the scoreboard, giving themselves a 11-point lead heading into the half. 

Laurier would maintain their advantage through the third quarter and put the game out of reach in the fourth, outscoring the Warriors 24-13 to take home the victory.
 
Playing strong for the Hawks was Alexandra Spadaro of Grimsby, Ont., who earned a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, a career first for her. Leading the Hawks in scoring was Sarah Dillon of Welland, Ont., who put up 13 points. 
 
Showing her skills as a playmaker was Toronto, native Lee Anna Osei who had six assists in the game.
 
Waterloo was paced by Markham, Ont., native Kristen Osborne who had 11 points and eight rebounds.  The rookie guard continues to put up strong minutes off the bench.

Waterloo will close out 2013 on the road on Saturday against the Brock Badgers who boast a 5-4 record.
