The Waterloo women's basketball team put together a strong opening 20 minutes but went cold in the final 20 as the Brock Badgers took care of the home side 76-54 in Wednesday night's battle at the PAC.

The visiting Badgers outscored the Warriors 34-14 in the second half to hand Waterloo their 16th loss of the season.  With the win Brock improves to 15-1.

The Badgers were led by forward Nicole Rosenkranz (Niagara Falls) and point guard Kayla Santilli (Brantford) who combined for 32 points, 16 each in the win.  Rosenkranz was 7-for-15 from the field while Santilli was successful on 7-of-8 attempts from the free throw line.

For Waterloo it was rookie Gia Spiropoulos (Belleville/) who put together a strong game with a career high 18 points in the loss.  Spiropoulos was a solid 7-for-10 from the field while adding four free throws on five attempts.  She also collected eight rebounds.  Mackenzie Lougheed (Owen Sound/Owen Sound) was the only other Warrior in double digits with 10 points while Sam McIntyre (Waterloo/) and Erika Persson (Lund/) had seven and six points respectively.

After playing their last five games at home the Warriors will return to road action but don't have far too travel as they make the short trip down University Avenue to face the Laurier Golden Hawks.  Tip-off is set for 1pm.
