Warriors wrap up 2012 with tough loss to Gee-Gees

Box Score The Warriors wrapped up 2012 with a disappointing 85-36 loss to the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Saturday night at the PAC.

The Gee-Gees shot 55.6% from the field compared to Waterloo's 25.5% and outscored the Warriors by at least eight in every quarter to pick up their fifth win of the season.  Waterloo remains winless at 0-7.

The Gee-Gees had a balanced attack in the win with Maddie Stephen (Toronto) leading the way with 14 points.  Catherine Traer (Chelsea, Que.) was next with 10 points while three different Gee-Gees rounded out the attack with nine points each.

Waterloo was led by rookie Erika Persson (Lund/) who had 10 points on 4 field goals, two from beyond the arc.  Four other Warriors (Kuntze, Lougheed, McIntyre and Ulman) had five points each in the loss.

The Warriors will be glad OUA crossover play has wrapped up and will look to refocus and adjust for OUA west opponents in the New Year.
