Warriors fall to Hawks in battle of Waterloo

The Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks took down the Waterloo Warriors 70-19 at the Athletic Complex. Laurier moved to 8-2 and second place in the OUA West and Waterloo fell to 0-10 and last place.

Christa Mancino of Port Colbourne, Ont. hit a season high 16 points in the win, while Renata Adamczyk of Greensville, Ont. scored 14. Felicia Mazerolle of Elliot Lake, Ont. led all players with five steals.

The Hawks got out to a quick start and never looked back, outscoring their opponents 36-8 by half.  The purple and gold forced 40 turnovers and scored 27 point off of them. Their bench combined to score 29.

Waterloo struggled throughout the entire game hitting only 19-percent of their shots from the floor. They also went 1-for-6 from the free throw line.

The Warriors next action is in Guelph on Wednesday, January 12 against the Gryphons.
