Athletics and Recreation is pleased to offer programming catered to our diverse student population. This programming aims to make space that is inclusive, safe, comfortable, and welcoming for equity-deserving students. We want to hear from you.

Spring 2024 Programming

  • This is a drop- in program. No registration required. 

    It is preferred that bags are kept outside of fitness centre, either in changeroom lockers or lockers by the fieldhouse. 

    Spring 2024

    • Women’s (cis and trans) Only - Mondays & Wednesdays 9:00-10:30 am
    • Trans, Non-Binary, & 2SLGBTQ+ - Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00-10:30 am
  • Women's (cis & trans) Only 

    • Tuesdays open rec drop-in swims 11 am - 12 pm
    • Thursdays open rec drop-in swims 8 - 9 pm

     

    Trans, Non-Binary & 2SLGBTQ+ 

    • Wednesdays open rec drop-in swims 10 - 11 pm
    • Fridays open rec drop-in swim 8 - 9 pm
      • For the exception of the following dates:
        • Friday, May 10th
        • Friday, June 14th
        • Friday, July 12th

     

    Black Folx Swim

    • Mondays & Fridays open rec drop-in swims 11 am - 12 pm
    • Mondays Adult LTS (Learn to Swim) lessons 11 am - 12 pm
      • Lessons are offered on a first come first serve basis up to capacity from May 27 - July 26. (register when you arrive).
      • Participants will learn various swimming skills that will aid in helping them feel more comfortable in the water which will lead to water confidence and enjoyment.
      • The aim is to get more Black Folx into a space where they haven't always been welcomed, while providing them the opportunity to learn swimming skills.
      • These lessons will be taught by experienced black swimmers/instructors.
  • Women's (Cis & Trans) Only 

    • Zumba: Starting from May 7th, every Tuesday from 12-12:50 pm in PAC Studio 3
      • A Fitness Class Membership is required to register for this class, which is $64.00+HST per term. You may also purchase a Fitness Class Day Pass for $5.50+HST
        • Try it for free during Free Fitness Week on Friday, May 7th from 12-12:50 pm. Click here to register.

     

    Trans, Non-binary, & 2SLGBTQ+ 

    • Strength Fundamentals: Starting from May 6th, every Monday from 1-1:50 pm in PAC Studio 3 (note, the first class on May 6th is in PAC Studio 1).
      • A Fitness Class Membership is required to register for this class, which is $64.00+HST per term. You may also purchase a Fitness Class Day Pass for $5.50+HST
        • Try it for free during Free Fitness Week on Monday, May 6th from 1-1:50 pm. Click here to register.
      • Exceptions for building closures:
        • Monday May 20th
        • Monday July 1st
        • Monday August 5th

     

    Please note, registration for Fitness Classes opens 7 days in advance.

Women (cis and trans) Programming 

Women’s (cis and trans) programming aims to provide a safe, comfortable, inclusive, and fun atmosphere for women. Attendees can expect programming to be delivered and/or supervised by women staff. 

If you are not a woman (cis or trans), please respect this space and come at another time when space is open to all users. 

Trans & Non-binary Programming 

Trans and Non-binary programming aims to provide a safe, comfortable, inclusive, and fun atmosphere for trans and non-binary people. Friends are welcome if participating with trans or non-binary persons. Programming will be delivered and/or supervised by a members or allies of the aforementioned community.  

If you are not trans or non-binary, or participating with a someone who is, please respect this space and come at another time when space is open to all users. 

2SLGBTQ+ Programming 

2SLGBTQ+ programming aims to provide a safe, comfortable, inclusive, and fun atmosphere for the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Friends are welcome if participating with a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Attendees can expect programming to be delivered and/or supervised by a members or allies of the aforementioned community.  

 

If you are not a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, or participating with someone who is, please respect this space and come at another time when space is open to all users.
