Miller Waste Systems announced as title sponsor for 2025 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship

TORONTO & WATERLOO, ON - U SPORTS and the University of Waterloo are pleased to announce Miller Waste Systems as the title sponsor of the 2025 Miller Waste Systems Women's Hockey Championship from March 20-23, 2025 at Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira.

"U SPORTS is thrilled to welcome Miller Waste Systems as the title sponsor of the 2025 U SPORTS Women's Hockey Championship," said Lisette Johnson-Stapley, Chief Sport Officer of U SPORTS. "Their commitment to fostering community engagement, sustainability and excellence is remarkable, and we are confident that this partnership will contribute significantly to the growth and success of women's hockey at the university level."

Miller Waste Systems, a leader in environmental services, has a strong tradition of supporting local communities and initiatives that make a positive impact. As the title sponsor, Miller Waste Systems not only enhance the overall experience of the championship but also contribute to the development of women's hockey programs at the participating universities.

The University of Waterloo, a renowned institution with a strong commitment to athletics, is hosting the U SPORTS Women's Hockey Championship for the first time in program history and it's first U SPORTS championship since the 2008 U SPORTS Curling Championship. This will mark the 11th championship in the history of the department.

The collaboration with Miller Waste Systems as the title sponsor further enhances the championship's significance and ensures a memorable experience for all participants and spectators.

This partnership profiles university women's hockey in Canada while elevating and showcasing female student-athletes on a well-deserved national stage." 

The theme for both the 2024 (University of Saskatchewan) and 2025 championships is "See Them, Be Them". The championships will showcase female role models in the community with a focus on the empowerment of girls and women in sport.

All championship games will be contested at the Woolwich Memorial Centre, which has a capacity of 2000, from March 20-23, 2025.
