The Warriors Cross Country team had their first race of the season at the Vigars & Salter Invitational in London this past weekend. Both men's and women's brought out a large field as this is where USports will be hosted in November.
Paige Breedon (Barrie) ran a gutsy race, taking the lead partway through and finishing in 40th, while
Hillary Clark (Elliot Lake) led the Warriors with a come-from-behind 31st place finish. These two outstanding Warriors paced the women's team to a 12th place finish. On the men's side,
Cameron Dean (Whitby) and
Jonathan Lysack (Brandon) led the team, placing 69th and 99th, respectively. The men's team finished a respectable 14th in a deep field. All of our Warriors are looking forward to improvements throughout the season and racing at their home course this upcoming Saturday at the
Don Mills Open.
