The 26th annual Don Mills Open took place this Saturday, September 30th, and our Warriors cross country team put up an excellent showing. Our men's team finished 6th of 9 teams, with
Cameron Dean (Whitby) and
Jonathan Lysack (Brandon) leading the team in 15th and 30th place, respectively.
Adam Huras (New Hamburg) has been working his way back from injury and managed an impressive 39th place in his first race in 3 months! On the women's side,
Hillary Clark (Elliot Lake) and
Paige Breedon (Barrie) traded places today with Paige leading the Warriors and placing 2nd out of all the university athletes! Hillary fought hard for a 10th place finish, and the women's top 7 runners were rounded out by
Chloe Vincent (Waterloo),
Olivia Vanleeuwen (Guelph),
Olivia Vanleeuwen (Guelph),
Claire Vernon-Pope (Hamilton), and
Ella Symon (Vancouver). This impressive squad took care of business, earning themselves third place out of 8 OUA teams. The Warriors look forward to their next race on October 13th, where they head to Hamilton to take on the rest of the OUA teams at the Bayfront Open.
