Daniel Nikashov

Men's Volleyball

Warriors land left side Daniel Nikashov

The Waterloo Warriors men's volleyball team continues to load up on talent this offseason, as Vaughan native Daniel Nikashov has signed on to join the program this fall.

Nikashov is an explosive left side who played his club career with ThunderCats Volleyball. He was also a member of Team Ontario's boys beach group, so he'll bring plenty of high-profile experience to the black and gold.

"We are thrilled to have Daniel join our team," said Warriors head coach Shayne White. "He is athletic and skilled, and very competitive in both athletics and academics. His character, athleticism and skill set are all perfect fits for our team's growth, and I believe he will thrive academically and athletically at Waterloo."

Nikashov will be studying in the Mechatronics Engineering program, and is ready to make an impact both on the floor and in the classroom in 2023-24.

"I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to the University of Waterloo to further develop my volleyball and academic career," said Nikashov. "I wish to thank my teammates, coaches, friends and family for supporting me along the way of my journey."

Nikashov and the Warriors will open training camp in early fall, before their OUA season kicks off on November 3 against the Guelph Gryphons.
