Rowing Club - Fall 2021 Info for Students

The University of Waterloo Rowing Club (UWRC) is a competitive rowing team that was founded in Fall 2018 by a group of first years keen to keep on rowing at university. We have partnered with the Cambridge Rowing Club so that we can row on the glassy water of the Grand River. IT is a beautiful course that has unrivalled sunrises, which makes morning practices more than worth it!

We have a super friendly team of over 20 athletes and 3 awesome coaches. One of the best parts of being part of the UWRC (other than rowing!) is the open and supportive culture the team has. It is a great place to make new friends and workout with them!

We have opportunities for both novice and experienced athletes on our team. No experience in rowing is required to join our novice program, we will teach you how to row and introduce you to competing! If you are an experienced athlete, you can join our existing crews and start training to race right away! We plan on attending four regattas (rowing competitions) this fall, with options to race in 4+, 2x, and 1x boats.

Everyone is welcome to come to our information session on September 9th in Waterloo Park, check out our Instagram (@uwaterloorowing) for details and to contact us with any questions! You can also contact us at uwaterloorowing@gmail.com if you have more detailed inquiries.

If you aren't back on campus until the winter term, make sure to follow our Instagram for updates about the W22 info session. We run dryland training in the winter term and attend indoor erging competitions!

We can't wait to see everyone at the info session this week!
