Heather Bews (Oshawa/) punched in three tries as women's rugby picked up not only their first win of the season but the first victory in the 2019-20 Battle of Waterloo Series, topping Laurier 27-5.
Marlee Gross (Hamilton/) added a single try for five points while
Jamie Walker (Barrie/) ran in a try and added a convert for seven points to round out Waterloo's attack.
Aman Gill scored the lone points for the Hawks with her sole try.
The win was the first for Head Coach
Eric Ciezar in his return to the Warriors.
With the win, Waterloo improved to 1-2 on the season and will wrap up regular season action next Sunday in Toronto hoping to continue their momentum into the post-season.
