The Warriors Field Hockey team continued with their impressive play in the 2019 season with two more solid results against stiff OUA competition this weekend in Toronto. 

On Saturday the Warriors battled back and forth with the 2018 OUA Silver Medallists, Guelph Gryphons falling by a score of 4-2. Guelph took a 2-0 lead into the third quarter before the Wariors got on the board as Hannah Cook (Waterloo/) scored her first career goal. Guelph regained their two goal lead before the 3rd would expire but the Warriors would not go away as Miranda Hunter (Mississauga/) netted a goal off a penalty corner to get her squad right back in it. Unfortunately the comeback would end there as Guelph added one late to make it a 4-2 final.

On Sunday, Waterloo was right back in action against Western and the Warriors went toe-to-toe with the Mustangs. Western took a 1-0 lead late in teh 3rd quarter before Larissa McLeod (Cambridge/) potted her first of the season and fifth of her career to even the score at 1's. Waterloo took their first lead just five minutes later as leading scorer Taylor Goodue notched her third of the season. Western would tie it up one minute later and the final buzzer would go, making the final 2-2.

The Warriors are now 2-4-1 on the season and sit in fourth in the OUA, one point ahead of Queen's and three up on Western. The Warriors have two more road games this Saturday in Guelph against the Gryphons and Varsity Blues before wrapping up their regular season with three straight home games.
