Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Warriors earn 6 points in weekend affair with T-Birds

The Warriors picked up six crucial points on the weekend with 2-0 and 4-0 wins over the visiting Algoma Thunderbirds this Labour Day weekend. After starting off the season with two hard fought losses, the Warriors picked up their socks and went to work.

On Saturday, the Warriors played tentative at times but got the job done, scoring twice to defeat the Thunderbirds 2-0.

Scoring for the Warriors was Danielle Erb (Waterdown/) in the 40th minute to put her squad up 1-0 into the half. It was Erb's sixth career goal in just her second season with the black and gold.

Waterloo added some insurance early in the second half as rookie striker Mylissa Tom (Waterdown/) netted her first career goal. The Warriors played strong the rest of the way to secure the 2-0 victory.

Making her first career start in net, Morgan Berg (Kitchener/) earned the clean sheet.

In their second game, Waterloo again came out tentative but found themselves up 1-0 into half thanks to a goal from Samantha Code (Waterloo/).

The Warriors then found their legs thanks to a great effort from Berg who was playing striker in this contest. Berg put away two goals in 16 minutes while adding a nice assist (finished off by Ainsleigh Sedore (Barrie/)) as Waterloo found the net three times to give the Warriors the 4-0 win.
The Warriors will hit the road next weekend as the Battle of Waterloo series is kicked off at Laurier on Saturday at 1pm before heading to London on Sunday to face Western.
