Women's basketball put together a strong first half but gave up 23 third quarter points in a 74-48 loss to McMaster on Wednesday night.
The Warriors stuck with McMaster, one of the top teams in the country, but couldn't find any answer for the visitors in the second half.
Four of five McMaster's starters reached double digits in the win as they shot 35.1% from the field compared to 29.5% for the Warriors. The black and gold also committed 21 turnovers in the loss.
Offensively, Waterloo was led by
Ann Stewart (Yellowknife/) who had eight points while
Aphia Ward (Beaumont/),
Caitlin MacLeod (Mississauga/) and
Afifa Salad (Cambridge/) each registred six. MacLeod had a stellar game on the boards with a game team high nine rebounds.
Waterloo will be back in action on Friday against another top 10 team as Windsor pays a visit to the PAC on Friday at 6pm. The game can be seen live on OUA.tv. Â
