The Warriors women's basketball team put together a very strong effort in their final game of the fall term.
If you take away a sleepy third quarter for the black and gold where Laurier outscored Waterloo 17-4, it's merely an even game in what was a 67-50 loss to the Hawks.
Ann Stewart (Yellowknife/) had a very spirited effort putting up 16 points in her 19 minutes of action. Stewart went 7-for-15 from the field while hitting two of three free throw attempts. She also led the way on the boards with six rebounds.
Syndey Wilson was the next best Warrior with 11 points which included a perfect 2-for-2 from the beyond the arc.
Julia Pavlik (Waterloo/) rounded out Waterloo's attack with seven points and three assists.
Nicole Morrison led the way for the Hawks with 16 points while two other Laurier starters also reached double digits.
The Warriors will now enjoy the Christmas break before getting back to work on January 3 in an exhibition game with Sheridan College at the PAC. Regular season resumes for Waterloo on January 5 with back-to-back home games against the Algoma Thunderbirds.Â
