Women's Rugby

Warriors top Blues for second win of season

The Waterloo women's rugby team put together another solid 80 minutes of rugby, topping the Toronto Varsity Blues 21-8 on Saturday afternoon on the lower CIF Fields.   After a tough season last year where the Warriors went winless, the black and gold have the ship headed in the right direction with new head coach Rebecca Delaney at the helm.  Waterloo now has two wins in their opening three games and look poised for the post-season.

Danielle Duncan (Waterloo) punched in two tries for a game high 10 points while Jessica Delaney (Stratford) added a single try.  Eleta Mitton (Simcoe), one of two Warriors of the match, rounded out the scoring with 6 points on three successful converts.  Lauren Mills (Kitchener) was the other Warrior of the game.   The Warriors will be back in action next Sunday with their final home game of the season against the stingy Brock Badgers.  Game time is set for 12pm.
