Gentile's two tries lead Warriors to victory over Golden Hawks

The Waterloo women's rugby team improved to 2-0 on the season as they defeated cross-town rivals Laurier Golden Hawks 34-7 on Saturday afternoon. Fifth year back Savannah Gentile (Oakville/) led her team to victory with two of her three tries on the season for 10 points in the game.

Third year lock and place kicker for the Warriors Renee Woodhouse (Stratford/) was on her game kicking three of five covert attempts and adding a penalty goal for nine points on the afternoon.

Other contributors were Rachel Brown (Cambridge/), Emily Sanderson (New Hamburg/) and 2010 OUA all-star Briana Cunningham (Waterloo/) who each added a try in the win.

Scoring the lone try for the Hawks was second year back Briana Wilson (Markdale, Ont.) while Jennifer Gilmour of Waterloo added the convert.

The black and gold take their perfect record into Guelph on Saturday, September 24 to battle the dominant Gryphons who have won their first two games by a combined score of 225-5. Kickoff is set for 1pm.
