Richard Eddy

Richard Eddy was named the head coach of the Waterloo Warriors women’s team in 2014 and has since led the team to 5 straight post-season appearances. In 2019, the Warriors captured the OUA bronze medal while Eddy was recognized as the OUA and U SSPORTS Coach of the Year. Over the past three seasons, the Warriors have been ranked in the U SPORTS Top 10, reaching as high as No. 3 in the nation, while achieving an overall team academic average above 80%.

Along with his coaching duties at Waterloo, Eddy has been a coach or coach-mentor at every age group in the Team Ontario High-Performance program, highlighted by coaching the 2017 Canada Games Team and winning bronze at the US High Performance Championships in the International Women’s division.
 
Eddy is a certified NCCP (Level III) Performance Coach and has also spent time developing professionally abroad with France’s Jr. National Team and with Club Italia at the Olympic Training Center in Rome, Italy. Outside of his work in the OUA, Eddy coached for the Q2 Panthers in the ONE Volleyball Premier league and locally with the K/W Predators. Off the court, Eddy lives in Waterloo with his wife Kelly, and their son Liam.
