Former track & field standout Alex Ullman returns for his fifth year as part of the Warriors XC coaching staff, his first as Co-Head Coach.
Alex made an immediate impact in his first year coaching with the Warriors, helping Akiva Goldberg finish 4
th place in the 1000m at the 2019 U SPORTS Track & Field Championships.
As a recent athlete in the sport, Alex brings a personal approach to coaching. Some of Alex’s accomplishments include:
- Represented Team Canada at the 2017 Francophone Games; Finished 6th in the 800m and 4th in the 4x400m Relay
- 3x U SPORTS gold medalist in the 4x800m relay (2014, 2015, 2016)
- U SPORTS silver medalist in the 600m (2015)
- 2x U SPORTS bronze medalist in the 1000m (2014, 2015)
- U SPORTS gold medalist in the 4x400m relay (2015)
- OUA Track & Field Outstanding Male Performer (2014)
- OUA Second Team All-Star honours in cross country (2017)
- Current U SPORTS 4x800m record holder
Alex is a veteran U SPORTS athlete with a decorated history of success in track and field. As a former Windsor Lancer and 7-time U SPORTS medalist, Alex has a history of high performance. In his track tenure, Alex has acquired invaluable experience and knowledge for what it takes to develop middle-distance and distance athletes.
Under the guidance of renowned coaches Dennis Fairall and the late Gary Malloy, Alex has developed in a culture of high achievement, both as a student of sport and a mentor to younger athletes. Contributing to Windsor’s U SPORTS Track and Field Championship Titles in 2015 and 2016, Alex knows the importance of teamwork and individual performance.
