My name is Roly Webster, and I am proud to be part of the leadership and engagement shown by our staff in our commitment to antiracism, and their contributions to the Alliance. 

Not only is it my privilege to be the Director of Athletics & Recreation, I continue learn and understand that I am also privileged to not have endured barriers due to my skin colour. This white privilege has contributed to white supremacy over generations, as my ancestors are of British descend, and as European settlers possibly contributing to, and benefiting from slavery and colonization in this country and the negative impact on our Indigenous people. 

I feel that we all have a responsibility to learn, and to eliminate stereotypes, biases and prejudices that lead to eliminating ignorance, and creating a safe & inclusive space for all. We have a powerful platform in sport & higher education to encourage learning and awareness around racism, white privilege and white fragility. How do we create a narrative that is based on a better understanding of the realities of our history, commitment to reconciliation, while eliminating racism, racial inequality & further oppression?
