University of Waterloo Athletics

I am Jenny Mackay and the current Manager, Marketing and Communications with Warriors Athletics and Recreation. I currently live in Waterloo and I grew up in Kincardine, ON which is a small town located on Lake Huron. My parents were born in Ripley, ON and Niagara Falls, ON and all of my grandparents were born in Canada. My great grandparents, from older generations, were born in the Ukraine, Poland and Scotland. I graduated from Waterloo in 2008 and have been working with the department full time since.

The reason I decided to join the Alliance was to have the opportunity to listen, learn and educate myself on racial equality so that I can also help to educate others. As a white person that grew up in a predominately white small town, I want to learn more about how I can be a supportive ally for the BIPOC community to ensure that change is made so that we can have a more equitable campus and society for all.
