Matt, a Perth, Ontario native, is entering his 14th season as a member of the Warriors coaching staff following a 4 year playing career for the Warriors.  As a player, McGahey was a four time Academic All-Canadian and won the Heart Award in 2002.  Prior to joining the Warriors, Matt played at Massachusetts College in the NCAA.  Matt holds an Honours BA in history from UW and is currently working towards completion of his Masters degree.  In 2007 Matt published two books relating to the history of UW: The Warriors of Winter - 50 Years of UW Hockey and Fifty Years of Battle marking the 50th anniversary of athletics at UW.  This season Matt’s primary focus will be with the goaltenders, pre-scouting divisional opponents, recruitment and alumni development.
