Renumeration: $18.95-$22.95 per hour  
Reports to: Camps and Climbing Coordinator

Job Description

The climbing wall is looking for student staff, no climbing experience or knowledge necessary. Role will include customer service and safety inspections. The role can include, boulder setting, teaching children’s lessons, student lessons and belay lessons.  

Qualifications

  • Some knowledge or, experience climbing beneficial but not mandatory 
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C + AED (course offered if successful in getting the role) 
  • Mandatory Training session prior to first shift (Determined once hired) 
  • Some customer service experience is preferred  

Tasks and Responsibiliites

  • Be a welcoming face at the University of Waterloo Climbing and Bouldering wall 
  • Provide top-tier customer service to the Waterloo climbing community  
  • Promote positive messages and communications to participants on behalf of the department  
  • Ensure all safety measures are taken while in shift, report any issues to supervisors  
  • Carry out lesson plans if tasked with teaching either children or students
