Job Summary:

  • Warrior Recreation Ambassadors are responsible for creating engaging social media content that highlights their experiences with Warrior Recreation and the impact it has on their life as a student. This content is shared on their personal Instagram account.  

     

     This is a casual part-time 4-month contract working from January–April 2024.  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Completing mandatory training
  • Planning content in advance monthly (resource templates provided)
  • Participating in a variety of Warrior Recreation activities 
  • Creating engaging Instagram posts, posted to their personal account, with the following goals:  
    • Encouraging participation and inviting others to get involved and/or try something new 
    • Raising awareness about program offerings, the values of the department, and the benefits of living a balanced and healthy lifestyle 
    • Promoting and supporting student wellbeing and holistic health (physical, mental, social, emotional, etc.)
    • Sharing personal experiences, learnings, and accomplishments 
  • Responding to inquires about Warrior Recreation offerings and the benefits of being active, and referring to campus resources
  • Recording and submitting engagement metrics
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Student at the University of Waterloo, starting at least their 2A term
  • Involved in some aspect of Warrior Recreation as a participant at a minimum. Includes using the facilities, participating in open recreation, and/or registering for programs or intramurals
  • Expertise and experience planning and creating engaging social media (Instagram) posts
  • Willingness to try new things, reflect, and share experiences
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Ability to work very well independently
