Renumeration: $22.95 - $29.95 per hour based on experience
Reports to: Fitness, Dance, and Martial Arts Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Waterloo Warriors are looking for certified group fitness and yoga instructors to join our team! Instructors are responsible for leading high quality, fun, and dynamic classes for our drop-in Shoetag participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Approved Certification/License in the class style you would like to teach
  • For Group Fitness, we currently recognize CanFitPro's Fitness Instructor Specialist (FIS) certification
  • For Yoga, we currently recognize any RYTT200hr course as well as yoga or pilates exercise certifications in conjunction with relative experience
  • For Cycle, we currently recognize Schwinn, CORE, and Reebok as our favoured certifications
  • For any other style of class (Groove, Zumba, BollyX, Barre, etc) we require a certificate or license from the granting agency as well as description of the certification/licensing process.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR, valid within the last 2 years.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Arrive 10 minutes before start of scheduled class
  • Teach all assigned classes for the full length of the shoetag schedule (Jan, Feb, Mar)
  • Hold all valid certifications and licenses for the duration of employment
  • Adhere to all department and certification/license policies and procedures
  • Promote positive messages and communications to participants on behalf of the department
