On Friday night, the men's hockey team kicked off the Waterloo Warriors Think Pink Campaign with their Shave for the Cure ceremony.

From January 5 to January 31, the Waterloo Warriors will join forces with U SPORTS schools nationwide to participate in the 2023-2024 Shoot for the Cure initiative. Over the last 15 years, the Warriors Think Pink Campaign has raised over $265,000.

The money raised from this event helps fund leading-edge cancer research that is improving cancer treatments, preventing cancer and saving lives; provides reliable and up-to-date information on cancer, risk reduction and treatment; offers vital community-based support services for people living with cancer and their families; and advocate for healthy public policies.

During the first intermission of the Men's Hockey game against the local rivals Laurier Golden Hawks, four Warriors (Alex Gritz (Cranberry Township, PA)Adamo Santia (Richmond Hill,ON/)Adam Grein (Kitchener,ON/)Connor Lovie (London,ON/)) shaved their heads as part of the Shave for a Cure campaign.

The Warriors are inviting people to donate their hair for a good cause and raise funds for charity. The annual hair-cutting event is set to take place during the halftime of the Women's Basketball game on January 19, 2024. Participants can be a part of the excitement and make a difference in the lives of those in need.
