Warriors use big second half to push past Golden Hawks

The Warriors outscored the Laurier Golden Hawks 39 to 21 in the second half en route to a big 65-46 win over Laurier to earn the season sweep in the Battle of Waterloo. The win was Waterloo's fifth in a row and 14th on the season as the black and gold now sit alone on top of the OUA west standings with a 14-4 record. Guelph is one game back with a 13-5 record.

Waterloo created 21 points off the turnover compared to just seven for the Hawks while also putting away 32 points in the paint while Laurier had just four.

For the second straight game, Kaitlyn Overeem (Brantford, ON/) led the Warriors in scoring with 15 points going 5-for-13 from the field and 3-for-4 from the line. She also added six rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win. Summer Pahl (Kitchener, ON/) and Maddy Adams (Drumbo, ON/) both also hit double digits with 11 and 10 points respectively while also combining for 13 rebounds. Beth Howlett (Burlington, ON/) and Ghiselle Poblete (Brampton, ON/) rounded out Waterloo's offence with six points each while Jaime Newell (Brussels, ON/) put in some quality work on the boards leading all players with 10 rebounds.
