Warriors Come Out on Top Against Badgers in Thrilling Last-Minute Victory

The Warriors managed to clinch a victory against the Brock Badgers on their home ground during the last weekend before the 2023 holiday break. Prior to this, the Warriors' last triumph against the Badgers was during the 2013-2014 OUA regular season at the PAC.

In the game, the team was led by Isaac Watsa (New Hamburg, ON/Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary), who achieved a personal best of 23 points. He was on fire with a 66.7% field goal success rate and an 80% success rate on three-pointers. Alongside him, Cristian Craciun (Ancaster, ON/) contributed with 13 points, five rebounds, and seven steals. Additionally, Ross Pockar (Calgary, AB/) and Josh Akuamoah (Whitby, ON/) both scored 11 points each.

The Warriors came out firing in the first quarter, with Isaac Watsa (New Hamburg, ON/Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary) leading the way. Watsa hit two three-pointers and made three out of four free throws, setting the tone for the rest of the team.

In the second quarter, the Badgers stepped up and exerted full-court pressure on the Warriors. As a result, they managed to force several turnovers by the Warriors. Brock hit a three-pointer right at the buzzer, giving the Badgers a 40-38 lead as they headed into the half-time break.

After the break, the Warriors struggled to keep up with the Badgers, who were able to draw fouls and convert their free throws into points. As a result, the Badgers took the lead 61-54 heading into the fourth period.

In the fourth, the Warriors were able to find their grove and chip away at the Badgers. In the game's final moments, the Brock Badgers were unable to find a solution as they missed a crucial three-pointer, ultimately leading to Josh Akuamoah (Whitby, ON/) being fouled and sent to the free-throw line. Despite missing the first free throw with only seven seconds left on the clock, Akuamoah made the second one, securing the victory for the Warriors with a final score of 73-71.
