Box Score 2 The Warriors women's soccer team were back on Warrior Field on Wednesday night earning a 1-1 draw against the visiting Guelph Gryphons.
Jane MacDonald (Halifax/) opened the scoring for the Warriors in the 33rd minute, firing home a rebound after Tatie Sinkeldam did some nice work in the box and put a shot on target.
The Warriors held their 1-0 lead late into the second half before the Gryphons tied it up on a penalty kick off the foot of Christina Gomes in the 81st minute.
Sinkeldam was all over the field and had some glorious chances throughout the match, putting 5 shots on target but Waterloo could not put anymore past the Guelph keeper and it would end in a 1-1 tie.
Morgan Berg (Kitchener/) was solid in net for Waterloo stopping 8 of 9 shots faced.
Waterloo met up with the Gryphons again on Friday night in Guelph and fell short by a score of 1-0. Berg was again busy facing 11 shots in the hard fought loss.
The Warriors (0-2-2) look for their first win of the season on Friday in Windsor when they battle the Lancers at 5pm.
