Women's basketball earned a 54-45 over Western on Senior Night, Waterloo's first win over the Mustangs since 2008.
Waterloo held Western to 27.8% from the field while the Warriors shot 32.2%.
Waterloo's trio of seniors all had outstanding performances with
Hilary Ferguson (Cambridge/) leading the way with 14 points including three made shots from beyond the arc. Freguson also had three rebounds and one block in what was her final home game at the PAC.
Ella Mahler (Hamilton/) had a solid night as well with seven points, going 3-for-5 from the field and also added six rebounds.
Rounding out Waterloo's senior night was
Abbey Sayles (Brantford/) who had five points including a deep three midway through the third quarter that gave her Warriors a comfortable 12 point (41-29) advantage.
Rookie guard
Beth Howlett (Burlington) had a solid game for her black and gold with 14 points while
Kaitlyn Overeem (Brantford/) and
Meghan Sharp (Kitchener/) both finished with five.
The Warriors will close out their season this Friday night across the street in a Battle of Waterloo with Laurier. Game time is at 6pm.Â
