It wasn't the finish the Warriors had hoped for with a 2-1 loss to the visiting Guelph Gryphons on Saturday afternoon but the goal set out at the start of the season has been reached; Playoffs!
The Warriors finished the season with a 3-6-5 record good for the sixth and final playoff spot and will travel east down the 401 to take on the York Lions on Wednesday night at 6pm. The last playoff matchup between the Warriors and Lions was an absolute thriller with the black and gold earning a 1-0 victory on penalty kicks at Warrior Field.
The Warriors will rely on
Ainsleigh Sedore (Barrie/) and Alayiah Wilson to provide the offence, both finishing the season with 4 goals while
Ciara Dunne (Waterloo/) found the net three times. In net,
Morgan Berg (Kitchener/) will be a key part if Waterloo hopes to upset the third seeded Lions. Berg has played in 13 of 14 games this season, making 90 stops while posting four shutouts.
