The Warriors men's rugby team picked up their first win over the McMaster in over a decade, topping the Marauders 30-15 on Saturday in Hamilton. The win all but clinches Waterloo's first post-season berth since 2012 when they lost to Western by a try in London. Waterloo's last win over McMaster came on October 20, 2007 by a score of 13-11.
Mitch Voralek (Waterloo/) added to his team lead in points with 15 more in the contest on three converts and three penalty goals. Voralek sits second in the OUA with 62 points on the season.
Also adding to Waterloo's offence was
Nicholas Bilodeau (Wellesley/),
Paul Schroeder (New Dundee/New Dundee) and
Adib Shalekeen (Toronto/Toronto), each adding a single try in the win.
Waterloo's defence played a solid game allowing just two tries against.
Waterloo's next match goes Friday, October 5 against Western at home on the lower CIF Field.
