Aphia Ward (Beaumont/) put up 15 points while Sydney Wilson (Guelph/) also had a strong night with 12 points of her own in a 71-51 loss to the Gryphons on Wednesday night in Guelph.

It was the second last game of the season for the Warriors and another slow second quarter cost the black and gold the game. Guelph went on a 13-0 run late in the second quarter and outscored Waterloo 22-7 allowing the home squad to cruise to their 13th win of the season.

Ward went 6-for-15 from the field with two 3-pointers while Wilson went 4-for-7 and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the line. Julia Pavlik (Waterloo/) was Waterloo's next best scorer with eight points while Ann Stewart (Yellowknife/) had six off the bench.

Guelph was led by Haley Belyk who had 12 points in the win.

The Warriors will close out their season on Friday in Windsor against the Lancers. Tipoff is set for 6pm and the game can be seen live on OUA.tv.
