The women's basketball team got off to a slow start and could not recover in a 74-44 loss to Western on Wednesday in London.
The Mustangs outscored the Warriors 14-5 in the opening quarter en route to their 11
th win of the season.
Western shot 41.8% from the field compared to 31.7% for Waterloo while the home side also hit six shots from beyond the arc.
Waterloo was led by
Sydney Wilson (Guelph/) who had nine points while
Ann Stewart (Yellowknife/) had eight. Stewart also had a big night on the boards with nine rebounds.
Aphia Ward (Beaumont/) had a nice game of the bench with eight points.
All five of Western's starters reached double digits with Julia Curran leading all scorers with 16 points.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday at the PAC as part of Fantastic Alumni Day when they take on the Brock Badgers at 12pm.
