Overeem puts up 25 in Think Pink win over Nipissing

Kaitlyn Overeem (Brantford/) put up her best numbers of her young career posting 25 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and four steals in a big 78-63 over the Nipissing Lakers on Think Pink night at the PAC. Overeem went an impressive 8-for-14 from the field and 6-for-9 from the charity stripe.

Overeem's night wasn't finished there as she joined three of her teammates at halftime of the men's game to cut their hair for the cause, which will be donated to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. Aphia Ward (Beaumont/) was also stellar, having her best game in a Warrior uniform with 20 points in 29 minutes of action. Ward went 8-for-19 from the field including four big shots from beyond the arc. Ward had three straight 3's in a span of 1:25 late in the third quarter to give Waterloo a 15 point (55-40) lead and the Warriors rode that to the finish line.
Vanessa Hughes (Hamilton/) was also outstanding, as the third Warrior to finish in double digits with 17 points in 24 minutes.

On the boards Breanna Hudspeth (Burlington/) collected a game high 10 rebounds.

As a team, Waterloo had their best shooting game of the year, operating at 40.6% compared to 38.5% for Nipissing. Waterloo also took advantage of Nipissing turnovers turning them into 18 points.
Waterloo closes out the calendar year tonight at the PAC against the Laurentian Voyageurs at 6pm. The game can be seen live on OUA.tv.
