The men's rugby team dropped their home opener on Friday night, falling to the OUA defending champions Guelph 43-5. With the loss Waterloo fell to 0-2 on the season while Guelph improved to 2-0.
Waterloo got their lone try from sophomore
Mitch Voralek (Waterloo/) while the Gryphons got most of their offence from Brandon MacLeod who had a game high 23 points on three tries and four converts.
Waterloo will look for their first win next Friday in London as they take on the Western Mustangs.
