The Warriors put together a strong 80 minutes of action on a scorching hot September day at the lower CIF Fields on Sunday.
Despite coming out on the losing end, by a score of 27-15 to the 2016 OUA bronze medallists McMaster, the black and gold have a lof of positives to build on as they transition into a more favourable schedule for the second half of the OUA season.
Waterloo got it to as close as 20-15 with just 10 minutes left in the game but McMaster punched home a late try to put the game out of reach.
Scoring for Waterloo was
Marcus Tanko (Scarborough/) and
Paul Schroeder (New Dundee/New Dundee), each with a try while
Mitch Voralek (Waterloo/) booted in a convert and penalty goal for five points of his own.
Waterloo will now take on Trent this Friday in Peterborough in search of their first win of the season before returning home on Friday, October 6 to battle the RMC Paladins.
